The Imperial City next to Perfume River

The Imperial City next to Perfume River was built in the early 1800s.

It was constructed with high walls and located at the heart of the citadel in Hue, the old ancient capital of Vietnam.

The ruling period of Nguyen Dynasty, 1902 – 1945.

At one side of the Imperial City is primarily bounded by Perfume River flowing in the south east. Inner moat exists short distant from the river.

The rest of the fortress’s sides also built with layers of moat and walls.

There’s a drone video footage capturing the Imperial City. Perhaps the only one I could find. Credit: David’s Video.
